Arm lift

Arm liposuction is a cosmetic procedure that removes fat deposits without causing pain, using advanced medical standards to address fat accumulation in the area between the shoulders and the elbow.

This medical procedure is considered less risky than other cosmetic procedures. Recent practical research has confirmed that individuals turn to this cosmetic procedure because a slender arm is considered a beauty standard. Often, fat accumulates in the arms due to sudden weight loss or diet plans.

What is Arm Liposuction:

The goal of this cosmetic surgery is to reduce the appearance of fat in the arm area.

This fat consists of accumulated fat cells caused by several factors. For instance, fat cells can accumulate during puberty, which requires exercise to eliminate them.

It may also result from significant weight loss or hormonal imbalances. Excessive fat in the arms may occur due to endocrine gland disorders or medication side effects. Generally, whatever the cause of the fat in the arms, removing this issue has become easy and common, so there’s no need to worry.

Are You a Suitable Candidate for Arm Liposuction:

One of the primary indicators that you are a candidate for this cosmetic procedure is the poor aesthetic appearance of the arm area, with noticeable fat deposits that traditional methods cannot address.

No physical activity or diet can significantly impact this area, especially if the fat mass exceeds the standard medical threshold.

Therefore, doctors usually recommend undergoing liposuction for noticeable results. It is best performed before the age of forty, so the skin retains its elasticity to contract and expand.

Other indicators that make you a suitable candidate for this cosmetic surgery include:

      • Excessive skin sagging in the arm area.
      • Accumulated fat in the shoulder and forearm areas.
      • Sloping shoulders due to significant fat in this area.
      • Deformation in the armpit, forearm, and shoulder areas.
      • Localized fat deposits in the armpit.
      • Disproportionate arm size compared to other body parts.

In general, the appropriate amount of fat to be suctioned will be determined by the doctor, who should be carefully chosen for their experience and skill. Factors include the thickness of the skin on the arm, muscle growth, and the degree of sagging.

Types of Arm Liposuction Procedures:

Types of Arm Liposuction Procedures

With advances in modern cosmetic science, many new techniques have emerged for rapid arm fat removal and achieving satisfactory results. We will review these techniques in detail below:

Laser Technique:

The doctor uses this technique as it is relatively modern and directly disrupts and destroys fat cells and their structure.

The doctor sends laser beams from the device’s nozzle to dissolve any fat deposits and vacuum the resulting space in the skin.

The advantage of this technique is that it deeply and directly affects any fatty tissue by heating adjacent non-fatty tissues, thus burning the fat.

Vaser Technique:

This is the most recent technique, where ultrasonic waves are sent through a thin cannula needle to directly destroy fat cells.

The fat mass is liquefied and pressed using thin cannulas and medical equipment. This is done by marking the problem area, then the surgeon makes small incisions in the elbow or armpit. Other techniques include surgery, among others.

Post-Arm Lifting Instructions:

There are some instructions and advice that should be followed carefully to ensure a smooth recovery period after surgery:

      • For at least 10 days after undergoing arm lift surgery, avoid any activities that strain the arms and muscles. Rest during this period, and after the time specified by the doctor, you can resume normal activities.

      • Refrain from engaging in sports activities for at least 6 months after the surgery. After this period, you may resume physical activities freely.

      • The doctor will advise wearing a compression garment for the arms, and it is important to wear it for a period of one and a half to two months.

      • Take the medications prescribed by the doctor, such as painkillers, to manage pain.

      • Keep the wound clean and dry. Avoid getting it wet after the doctor removes the stitches, for one to two days or until the doctor decides otherwise.

      • If you smoke, avoid smoking entirely for up to 14 days, as smoking delays the healing process and wound closure.

      • If you experience severe pain, excessive redness at the wound site, or notice any pus, consult the doctor immediately to avoid complications.

Recovery Period After Surgery:

Assuming you have safely left the operating room, congratulations on your recovery. You will need to stay at the medical center or hospital for at least 24 hours to ensure the medical team confirms your safety and good health. Afterward, you may go home. Recovery time depends on your health condition, the number of procedures performed, and any existing medical conditions. Generally, recovery may take from seven to fourteen days. Here are some important instructions to follow during this period:

      • Avoid alcohol, narcotics, and smoking to ensure a quick and complete recovery.

      • Do not engage in any strenuous activities as they may negatively affect the wound and your overall health post-surgery.

      • Avoid going to the gym, sauna, beach, or swimming pool.

      • Change the wound dressing at least twice a day to keep it clean.

      • Avoid direct sun exposure, as it may harm the wound.

      • Consume a balanced, healthy diet rich in proteins and essential minerals to speed up the healing process and support tissue repair.
